Scaffolders are trained and carded through the Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme (CISRS). Card levels run from Trainee through to Scaffolder and Advanced Scaffolder, and each level shows what the holder is qualified to erect. Before any contractor starts work on your property, ask to see their operatives' CISRS cards. Our team is CISRS-qualified and CITB-trained and has completed further working-at-height courses.
Current law doesn't set a single maximum height; the limit depends on the scaffold's design. Standard tube-and-fitting scaffolds can be built to NASC TG20:21 compliance sheets. Taller or more complex structures need a bespoke design with calculations for ties, loading and wind. We design and erect scaffolds for everything from chimney stacks in Hertford to multi-storey buildings in North London.
The type you'll see most often on UK homes and commercial buildings is the independent tied scaffold, built from tube and fittings. Other types include birdcage scaffolds for ceilings and atriums, cantilever and suspended scaffolds where there's no ground to build from, and mobile towers for light, short-term tasks.
